How Does the Course Work?

  1. Read, Watch, and Learn

We've broken the online handgun safety course down into 5 easy-to-understand units that you can complete at your own pace. Each unit features a combination of text, images, and live-action video. The units are organized to form building blocks of information. Each unit will help you understand the information in the next units.

Unit 1: Introduction to Handgun Education
Unit 2: Know Your Handgun Equipment
    Unit 3: Basic Handgun Skills
    Unit 4: Handgun Safety
    Unit 5: Handgun Laws

  2. Take the Unit Quizzes

As you progress through the course, you’ll be given the opportunity to demonstrate how well you’re understanding the handgun safety topics by taking a quiz at the end of each unit.

You’ll need to score 80% or greater on the unit quiz before moving on to the next unit.

If you don’t pass a unit quiz, that’s no problem. You’ll just go back and take the quiz as many times as you need to pass it.

  3. Pass the Final Exam

After completing all units, you’ll have the choice to proceed directly to the online Final Exam, or you may first take a practice exam.

Both the practice exam and the Final Exam cover all the course material and will assess your knowledge of your handgun safety.

You must score 80% or greater on the final exam to pass. If you fail the final exam, don’t worry; you have unlimited attempts to pass.
